✨ QUICK START GUIDE

Take 30-60 minutes before bedtime. Let dissolve slowly for maximum absorption. Effects felt within 30-60 minutes. Safe for nightly use. Non-habit forming. See detailed information below.

  • Primary Benefits

    1. PROMOTES DEEP, RESTORATIVE SLEEP The combination of valerian root and passionflower has been clinically studied for sleep support. Valerian works on GABA receptors in the brain (similar to how benzodiazepines work, but gently and naturally), while passionflower increases GABA production. Together, they help you fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer, with improved sleep quality throughout the night.

    2. EASES ANXIETY & NERVOUS TENSION Lavender and tulsi are powerful anxiolytics (anxiety-reducers) that work on both the nervous system and the endocrine system. Lavender's volatile oils directly calm the nervous system when absorbed through the mucous membranes in your mouth. Tulsi, as an adaptogen, helps your body manage the physiological effects of stress, reducing cortisol and supporting a calm baseline.

    3. CALMS RACING THOUGHTS Passionflower is particularly effective for the kind of anxiety that manifests as circular thinking, worry loops, and mental restlessness. It's traditionally used for people who "can't turn their brain off" at night. Combined with lavender's calming properties, this blend helps quiet the mental chatter that keeps you awake.

    4. RELEASES PHYSICAL TENSION Valerian root is a mild muscle relaxant, helping to release the physical holding patterns that accumulate in the body throughout the day. Many people hold tension in their jaw, shoulders, and hips—valerian helps these areas soften and release, making it easier for the body to settle into sleep.

    5. SUPPORTS HEALTHY SLEEP CYCLES Unlike pharmaceutical sleep aids that force sedation, these herbs work with your body's natural circadian rhythms. Raw honey provides a small amount of glucose that supports melatonin production, while the herbs help regulate the nervous system so your body can return to its natural sleep-wake cycle.

    Secondary Benefits

Oral Fixation Support: For those breaking the smoking habit, this lolli provides something to do with your mouth during high-craving times (especially that after-dinner or evening cigarette). The calming herbs also help reduce the anxiety that often triggers smoking.

Digestive Ease: Many of these herbs have secondary digestive benefits. Lavender and tulsi both support healthy digestion and can ease occasional stomach upset that might interfere with sleep.

Mood Support: Better sleep means better mood. The adaptogenic properties of tulsi also provide gentle mood stabilization over time with consistent use.

Throat Soothing: Raw honey and the demulcent properties of some herbs provide gentle throat coating, helpful if you're recovering from a cold or dealing with dry throat.

  • INGREDIENT DEEP DIVE

    Complete Ingredient List

Isomalt, Tapioca Syrup, Organic Lavender Buds, Organic Tulsi (Holy Basil), Valerian Root Powder, Passionflower Powder, Raw Honey, Lavender Extract, Citric Acid, Coconut Oil

    Herb Profiles

LAVENDER (Lavandula angustifolia) The Calming Companion

Primary Actions: Nervine, anxiolytic, mild sedative, antispasmodic
What It Does: Lavender is perhaps the most beloved calming herb in Western herbalism. Its volatile oils (linalool and linalyl acetate) directly affect the limbic system—the emotional center of the brain—producing feelings of calm and ease. When absorbed through the mucous membranes in your mouth, lavender works quickly to reduce anxiety and nervous tension.

Historical Use: Used for thousands of years across Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, and European cultures for "nervous conditions," insomnia, and anxiety. Roman soldiers carried lavender into battle to calm nerves and treat wounds.

Modern Research: Multiple clinical trials show lavender reduces anxiety as effectively as some pharmaceutical medications, with no side effects. Studies show it improves sleep quality and reduces the time it takes to fall asleep.

In This Formula: We use organic lavender buds (visible in the lolli) plus concentrated lavender extract for maximum therapeutic benefit. The buds provide visual beauty and some aromatherapy as you enjoy the lolli; the extract provides the therapeutic dose.

TULSI / HOLY BASIL (Ocimum sanctum) The Sacred Adaptogen

Primary Actions: Adaptogen, anxiolytic, immune modulator, neuroprotective
What It Does: Tulsi is one of the most revered herbs in Ayurvedic medicine, known as "The Incomparable One" and considered a sacred plant in Hindu tradition. As an adaptogen, it helps your body and mind adapt to stress by regulating cortisol (the stress hormone) and supporting healthy nervous system function. Unlike sedatives that force calm, tulsi teaches your system how to be calm.

Historical Use: Used for over 5,000 years in Ayurvedic medicine as a daily tonic for longevity, stress resilience, mental clarity, and spiritual practice. Often consumed as tea before meditation or evening rituals.

Modern Research: Clinical studies show tulsi reduces anxiety and stress-related symptoms as effectively as some anti-anxiety medications. It also improves cognitive function and protects the brain from stress-induced damage.

In This Formula: Tulsi provides the adaptogenic foundation that helps your nervous system regulate itself over time. With regular use, it can help reset your baseline stress response, making it easier to wind down each evening.

VALERIAN ROOT (Valeriana officinalis) The Sleep Guardian

Primary Actions: Sedative, anxiolytic, antispasmodic, hypnotic
What It Does: Valerian root is the classic Western herbal sleep remedy, used for centuries to treat insomnia, anxiety, and nervous tension. It works by increasing GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) activity in the brain—GABA is the neurotransmitter that produces feelings of calm and relaxation. Valerian also relaxes muscles, helping release physical tension that can interfere with sleep.

Historical Use: Used since ancient Greece and Rome for "nervous unrest" and insomnia. Medieval herbalists called it "all-heal" and prescribed it for everything from anxiety to epilepsy. Native American tribes independently discovered its sedative properties.

Modern Research: Numerous clinical trials confirm valerian's effectiveness for improving sleep quality, reducing time to fall asleep, and decreasing nighttime awakening. It's particularly effective when combined with other nervine herbs (like we've done here).

In This Formula: Valerian provides the core sleep-inducing effect. While it has a distinctive earthy aroma, we've balanced it with sweet lavender and honey so the taste is pleasant. The sedative effect is gentle—you won't feel "drugged," just naturally sleepy.

Note: Some people (about 10%) experience a paradoxical effect with valerian, feeling stimulated rather than sedated. If this happens to you, valerian simply isn't your ally, and you should avoid this lolli. Try Rose Dream™ instead for gentle sleep support.

PASSIONFLOWER (Passiflora incarnata) The Mind Quieter

Primary Actions: Anxiolytic, sedative, antispasmodic, nervine
What It Does: Passionflower is particularly effective for anxiety that manifests as mental restlessness—racing thoughts, worry loops, inability to "shut your brain off." It works by increasing GABA levels in the brain (complementing valerian's action) and has a specific affinity for thought-based anxiety rather than just physical nervousness.

Historical Use: Native American tribes used passionflower for wounds and various ailments. European herbalists adopted it in the 1800s specifically for insomnia and nervous conditions, particularly for people whose minds wouldn't quiet down.

Modern Research: Clinical studies confirm passionflower's effectiveness for generalized anxiety disorder and insomnia. It's been shown to be as effective as some benzodiazepines for anxiety, without the side effects or addiction potential.

In This Formula: Passionflower complements the other herbs by specifically targeting the mental component of sleeplessness. If your body is tired but your mind won't stop, passionflower is speaking to you.

    RAW HONEY The Sweet Support

Primary Actions: Antimicrobial, demulcent, prebiotic, blood sugar regulator
What It Does: Raw honey provides more than sweetness. It contains trace amounts of glucose that support melatonin production (your sleep hormone). Honey also has a unique effect on blood sugar, providing gentle, sustained energy release that prevents the blood sugar dips that can wake you in the middle of the night. The enzymes and pollen in raw honey also support immune function and gut health.

Historical Use: Honey has been used medicinally for over 8,000 years across virtually every traditional medicine system. Ancient Egyptian, Ayurvedic, and Traditional Chinese Medicine all used honey for healing, soothing, and strengthening.

Modern Research: Studies show that a small amount of honey before bed can improve sleep quality by stabilizing blood sugar and supporting melatonin production. The antimicrobial properties of raw honey also support immune function during the restorative sleep period.

In This Formula: We use minimal raw honey (about 2g per lolli) to provide therapeutic benefits without excessive sugar. The honey also helps the other herbs absorb better and provides a pleasant, familiar sweetness that balances the earthier herb flavors.

    ISOMALT The Sugar-Conscious Base

What It Is: Isomalt is a sugar alcohol derived from beets. It has a very low glycemic index (GI of 2, compared to sugar's GI of 65), meaning it doesn't spike blood sugar. It's commonly used in sugar-free candies and by diabetics.

Why We Use It: We formulated these lollies to be sugar-conscious because we know many of our clients are managing blood sugar, insulin resistance, or simply want to reduce refined sugar intake. Isomalt allows us to create a traditional hard candy experience without the sugar crash that can actually interfere with sleep.

Properties: Isomalt is about 50% as sweet as sugar, which is why we add a touch of honey for balanced sweetness. It doesn't promote tooth decay like sugar does. It creates beautiful, translucent clarity that lets you see the herbs inside.

Note: Isomalt can have a laxative effect in large quantities (usually 20-30g+), but at the amount in one lolli (about 10g per lolli), most people experience no digestive effects. If you're sensitive, start with half a lolli to assess tolerance.

  • HOW TO USE

    Timing

Best time: 30-60 minutes before your desired bedtime

Why this timing: The herbs need time to absorb through your mucous membranes and enter your bloodstream. Starting 30-60 minutes before bed allows the calming effects to build gradually, so by the time you're ready to sleep, your nervous system is primed for rest.

    The Ritual

    1. SET THE SCENE (5 minutes before lolli) Dim the lights, turn off screens, begin your wind-down activities. This signals to your body that sleep is coming and enhances the effectiveness of the herbs.

    2. ENJOY SLOWLY (10-15 minutes) Unwrap your Deep Sleep™ lolli and place it in your mouth. Don't chew or bite—let it dissolve slowly. This allows maximum absorption of the herbs through the rich blood vessels in your mouth and under your tongue. Notice the visible lavender buds as the lolli becomes smaller. Breathe deeply as you taste the floral, slightly earthy flavors.

    3. MINDFUL PRACTICE (while enjoying) This is an excellent time for:

    • Gentle breathwork (4-7-8 breathing: inhale for 4, hold for 7, exhale for 8)

    • Light journaling or gratitude practice

    • Reading (actual books, not screens)

    • Gentle stretching or restorative yoga

    • Quiet conversation

    • Preparing your space for sleep

    4. NOTICE THE SHIFT (15-30 minutes after finishing) Pay attention to the subtle changes: shoulders dropping, breath deepening, thoughts slowing, body softening. This is the herbs working. Honor this transition by moving toward bed when you feel ready, rather than pushing through to "finish one more thing."

    5. SLEEP (30-60 minutes after starting lolli) By now, you should feel naturally tired and calm. Go to bed. Your body knows what to do.

    Dosing Guidance

Standard dose: 1 lolli, 30-60 minutes before bed
For acute stress/anxiety: 1 lolli as needed during the day (safe to use during daytime, though may cause drowsiness)
For strong sleep support: Can use 1-2 lollies (start with one and assess before adding a second)
For children: Not recommended under age 18 without consulting healthcare provider

    Frequency

Daily use: Safe for nightly use. These herbs are non-habit forming and can be used every night indefinitely.
As-needed use: Also effective when used occasionally for particularly stressful days or nights.
Tolerance: Unlike pharmaceutical sleep aids, you won't build tolerance to these herbs. They continue working with long-term use and can actually become more effective over time as they support nervous system regulation.

    What NOT to Do

    • Don't drive or operate machinery after using (these herbs are intended to make you sleepy)

    • Don't combine with alcohol (both are sedatives; combining can be dangerous)

    • Don't use with other sedative medications without consulting your healthcare provider

    • Don't expect instant knockout—these herbs work gently and cumulatively

    • Don't use if you have low blood pressure without monitoring (valerian can lower blood pressure)

  • First Use

    Immediate effects (within 30-60 minutes):

    • Gentle sense of calm washing over you

    • Shoulders and jaw releasing tension

    • Breathing naturally deepening

    • Thoughts beginning to slow down

    • Yawning (a good sign!)

    • Feeling of "heaviness" or relaxation in limbs

    • Desire to lie down

    That night:

    • Falling asleep may feel easier, more natural

    • Sleep may feel deeper (you might wake less during the night)

    • Dreams may be more vivid (passionflower can enhance dream recall)

    • You may wake feeling more rested, though one night isn't enough to reset sleep debt

    First Week

    • Sleep onset time continues to improve (faster falling asleep)

    • Fewer middle-of-the-night awakenings

    • Beginning to establish a new bedtime ritual/pattern

    • Daytime anxiety may decrease slightly

    • Your body begins to anticipate and prepare for the calming ritual

    First Month (with regular use)

    • Significant improvement in sleep quality and duration

    • Baseline anxiety and nervous tension noticeably lower

    • Your nervous system is beginning to regulate itself better

    • The ritual has become a comforting, reliable part of your evening

    • You may find you need less caffeine during the day because you're sleeping better

    • Overall sense of well-being improves

    Long-Term Use (2+ months)

    • Sleep issues may be significantly reduced or resolved

    • Your body has learned to wind down more naturally

    • You've likely addressed some of the root causes of sleep disruption

    • The adaptogenic herbs (tulsi) have helped your stress response become more resilient

    • You may find you can occasionally skip the lolli and still sleep well (because your nervous system has been retrained)

    Individual Variation

Some people are "fast responders": They feel significant effects from the first lolli and experience dramatic sleep improvement within days.

Most people are "gradual responders": They notice subtle benefits immediately but the most profound changes happen over 2-4 weeks of consistent use.

A few people are "non-responders": If you've used the lolli consistently for 2 weeks with zero effect, these herbs may not be your allies. Try Coconut Rose™ or Rose Dream™ instead, which work through different mechanisms.

  • How Sleep Deprivation Shows Up in the Body

As a holistic practitioner with 28 years of combined experience in esthetics and massage therapy, I've developed a methodology called Body Signals™—a way of reading external physical manifestations to understand internal health conditions.

Sleep deprivation and nervous system dysregulation create specific patterns I see in my practice:

    FACIAL SIGNALS:

    • Dark circles under eyes (kidney/adrenal depletion from stress)

    • Puffiness and fluid retention (cortisol disruption)

    • Dull, gray complexion (lack of cellular repair during deep sleep)

    • Increased breakouts (cortisol triggers oil production and inflammation)

    • Fine lines becoming more pronounced (skin repairs itself during deep sleep)

    • Tension lines between brows (chronic stress and worry)

    BODY SIGNALS:

    • Chronic tight shoulders and upper back (holding anxiety in the body)

    • Jaw clenching or TMJ issues (nighttime grinding from stress)

    • Digestive issues (nervous system affects gut function)

    • Lowered immune function (getting sick more often)

    • Weight gain or difficulty losing weight (cortisol and insulin dysregulation)

    • Cold hands and feet (poor circulation from chronic stress)

    • Hormone imbalances (sleep is required for hormone production)

    ENERGETIC SIGNALS:

    • Wired and tired feeling (cortisol pattern disrupted)

    • Afternoon crashes requiring caffeine or sugar

    • Difficulty focusing or memory problems

    • Emotional volatility or quick to tears/anger

    • Feeling disconnected from your body or emotions

    • Loss of joy or feeling flat

How Deep Sleep™ Supports Your Body

When you consistently use Deep Sleep™ as part of a holistic sleep routine, these signals begin to reverse:

After 1-2 weeks: Facial puffiness reduces, dark circles lighten, jaw relaxation begins
After 1 month: Skin begins to look more radiant (better cellular repair), breakouts reduce, tension lines soften
After 2-3 months: Hormonal patterns stabilize, weight management becomes easier, immune function strengthens, overall vitality returns

This lolli is one tool in addressing the root cause—chronic nervous system activation and poor sleep—rather than just masking the symptoms.

  • General Safety

These herbs have been used safely for centuries and are generally well-tolerated. However, herbs are medicine, and medicine must be respected.

    Contraindications (DO NOT USE if...):

Pregnancy: Valerian and passionflower have not been sufficiently studied in pregnancy. While likely safe in small amounts, we recommend avoiding this lolli if you're pregnant unless specifically advised by your healthcare provider.

Nursing: Small amounts of herbal constituents can pass through breast milk. Consult your healthcare provider before use.

Scheduled Surgery: Stop using this lolli at least 2 weeks before any scheduled surgery, as valerian can interact with anesthesia.

Sedative Medications: Do not combine with benzodiazepines (Xanax, Valium, Ativan, etc.), sleep medications (Ambien, Lunesta, etc.), or other sedatives without consulting your healthcare provider. The combination can cause excessive sedation.

Alcohol: Do not combine with alcohol. Both are sedatives and the combination can be dangerous.

Low Blood Pressure: Valerian can lower blood pressure. If you have hypotension, monitor your blood pressure or consult your healthcare provider.

Allergies: If you're allergic to ragweed, you may have cross-reactivity to passionflower. Start with a small amount to test.

    Possible Side Effects

Most common (rare): Mild drowsiness the next morning if used too close to wake time

Uncommon: Vivid dreams (passionflower can enhance dream recall—some people enjoy this, others find it unsettling)

Rare: Paradoxical stimulation from valerian (about 10% of people), mild digestive upset from isomalt if sensitive

What to do: If you experience any unwanted effects, discontinue use. Most side effects resolve within 24 hours.

  • About Effectiveness

Q: How long does it take to work? A: Most people feel initial calming effects within 30-60 minutes of finishing the lolli. Full sleep benefits develop over 1-4 weeks of consistent use as your nervous system regulates.

Q: Will I feel "drugged" or groggy? A: No. These herbs promote natural sleepiness, not sedation. You should feel like you're ready for bed, not forced into unconsciousness. Some people experience mild grogginess the next morning if they don't get adequate sleep hours (aim for 7-9 hours).

Q: Can I use this during the day for anxiety? A: Yes, though it may make you drowsy. If you struggle with daytime anxiety, try Clarity™ or Rose Dream™ instead—they provide calm without sleepiness.

Q: What if I'm already on sleep medication? A: Do not combine with pharmaceutical sleep aids without consulting your healthcare provider. If you want to transition away from sleep meds, work with your doctor to taper gradually while introducing herbal support.

Q: Will I build tolerance or become dependent? A: No. Unlike pharmaceutical sleep aids, these herbs do not create tolerance or dependence. They support your body's natural sleep mechanisms rather than forcing sedation.

    About Ingredients

Q: Why can I see herbs in the lolli? A: We intentionally include visible botanical pieces (especially lavender buds) so you can see the real, authentic herbs you're getting. It's also beautiful and connects you visually to the plants supporting your sleep.

Q: Is this really sugar-free? A: It's sugar-conscious, not sugar-free. We use isomalt (low-glycemic) as the base plus a small amount of raw honey. Total sugar content is minimal and won't spike blood sugar like conventional candy.

Q: Why do you use honey if you're trying to be low-sugar? A: Raw honey provides therapeutic benefits beyond sweetness—it supports melatonin production, stabilizes blood sugar through the night, and has antimicrobial properties. The amount is minimal (about 2g per lolli).

Q: What does valerian taste like? A: Valerian has a distinctive earthy, slightly bitter flavor. We've balanced it with sweet lavender and honey so the overall taste is pleasant and floral with subtle earthiness.

Q: Are the herbs organic? A: We use certified organic herbs whenever available. All our herbs are sourced from reputable suppliers committed to quality and sustainability.

    About Use & Safety

Q: Can I use this if I'm pregnant? A: We don't recommend it without guidance from your healthcare provider. Some herbs in this formula haven't been sufficiently studied in pregnancy.

Q: Can children use this? A: Not recommended for children under 18 without specific guidance from a pediatrician or qualified herbalist. Choking hazard for children under 3.

Q: I have a ragweed allergy—is this safe? A: Passionflower is in the same plant family as ragweed and may cause cross-reactivity. Start with a very small amount to test, or choose a different lolli.

Q: Can I drive after taking this? A: No. This lolli is designed to make you sleepy. Do not drive or operate machinery after use.

Q: What if I don't feel anything? A: Some people are "non-responders" to certain herbs. If you've used it consistently for 2 weeks with zero effect, these particular herbs may not be your allies. Try Rose Dream™ or Coconut Rose™ instead.

Q: Can I take more than one? A: You can use 1-2 lollies per evening. Start with one and assess before adding a second. More is not always better with herbs.

    About Purchase & Storage

Q: How long will they last? A: Best quality within 6 months, safe to consume within 12 months when stored properly (cool, dry place in original wrapper).

About Shantelle & Love U Studios

Deep Sleep™ was formulated by Shantelle, founder of Love U Studios Holistic Wellness Center. With 28 years of combined experience as a licensed esthetician and massage therapist, plus 6 years as a practicing herbalist, Shantelle brings both clinical expertise and deep plant wisdom to every product she creates.

"I created Deep Sleep™ for my clients who came to me exhausted, anxious, holding tension in their bodies that no amount of massage could fully release. I knew the issue went deeper—it was their nervous systems stuck in fight-or-flight. These herbs are the ones I've turned to myself during my own sleep struggles, and I've witnessed them support hundreds of people in finding rest again. May they serve you well."

Our Philosophy: Body Signals™

At Love U Studios, we believe your body is always communicating. External symptoms—dark circles, tight shoulders, dull skin, poor sleep—are signals pointing to internal imbalances. Our approach treats root causes, not just symptoms. Deep Sleep™ addresses the nervous system dysregulation underlying so many modern health complaints.

It looks good to feel good, so love you.
